The National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) has launched its first training program titled "Training of Trainers Program in Cybersecurity," in collaboration with the Ministry of Education. The program aims to enhance the capabilities and skills of IT specialists and teaching staff in both public and private schools across the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of cybersecurity. Its goal is to prepare educators to guide students in the safe use of technology, safeguard personal data, help build a cyber-aware generation, and promote the values of good digital citizenship.

The training program is structured to include two training workshops and a discussion session. During the training program, participants were introduced to the most prominent cybersecurity risks facing educational institutions, as well as best practices for securing the digital learning environment. The topics covered included the protection of devices and personal data, securing remote learning platforms, and enhancing students’ cybersecurity safety. Participants were also provided with resources and educational materials, in addition to engaging in interactive activities designed to reinforce understanding and practical application of cybersecurity concepts.

The program was launched in September, in conjunction with the “Back to School Safely” campaign, with a workshop attended by 60 participants from public schools. The program spans six months, with each group receiving eight hours of training. A second workshop will be held at a later stage to further develop the skills of educational and technical staff and support the integration of cybersecurity education into school curricula.

The program will conclude with a discussion session aimed at evaluating the program’s effectiveness in achieving its objectives. It will also assess its impact on participants and support them in implementing the outcomes.
