The NCSC Signs a Government Security Program Agreement with Microsoft

His Excellency Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed AlKhalifa, CEO of the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC), and Sheikh Saif bin Hilal Al Hosni, Regional General Manager of Microsoft, signed a cybersecurity cooperation agreement aimed at supporting the development of the information security sector at the NCSC. The agreement facilitates collaboration with Microsoft to ensure information security, combat threats and vulnerabilities, and address malware related to Microsoft products, technologies, and computing environments.

The CEO of the NCSC noted that the agreement aims to conduct security and assurance assessments of Microsoft products, services, and technologies, provide assistance with analysis, support, and product development for secure internal use. It also seeks to enhance the use of Microsoft products within the NCSC, various institutions, and vital sectors.

The General Manager of Microsoft in Bahrain and Oman emphasized the importance of cybersecurity measures in the current era, where advanced technologies play a vital role in fostering innovation and facilitating communication. He emphasized Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to empowering both government and private sector institutions against evolving cyber threats, noting that the Government Security Program agreement represents a milestone in Microsoft’s collaboration with the NCSC and strengthens efforts to enhance cybersecurity capabilities in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

During the signing of the agreement, a brief presentation was given on the NCSC’s mission, objectives, and key contributions, including its collaboration with various government institutions and vital sectors in Bahrain to provide a secure cybersecurity infrastructure for addressing potential threats and vulnerabilities. Microsoft also presented the main objectives of its Global Information Security Program, which aims to ensure information security by providing governments with insights into the safety of Microsoft products, services, and technologies.
