The National Cyber Security Center organizes a workshop on the “Basics of Cyber Security”
In collaboration with Al Noor Specialist Hospital and Gulf Medical and Diabetes Center, the National Cyber Security Center hosted two workshops on “The Basics of Cyber Security”. In accordance with NCSC's National Strategy for Cybersecurity and in support of national initiatives to raise awareness and train specialists in the critical and health sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The first workshop introduced medical, nursing, and administrative professionals to the importance of cybersecurity for the health sector, to combat cyber risks that have escalated during the Coronavirus pandemic, as well as global and regulatory cybersecurity standards for the health sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The second workshop introduced specialists in information technology and medical devices about the types of cyber-attacks and international best practices in the field of cybersecurity.
The two workshops also included interactive practical exercises, that taught attendees about the most recent procedures for protecting medical institutions and patients' privacy from cyber risks, as well as managing and analyzing cyber risks and procedures to deal with them, and how to prepare a plan to recover from cyber risks.
Notably, the National Cyber Security Center holds workshops to raise awareness and a cyber-aware culture among government and private sector professionals and strengthen cooperation with all stakeholders, including the health sector.
