The National Cyber Security Center Delivers a Workshop on Cyber Incident Guideline
As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance cybersecurity awareness, develop specialized national capabilities, and raise the level of cyber readiness across various entities, the National Cyber Security Center delivered a specialized training workshop titled “Cyber Incident Guideline” for a number of IT specialists at the Ministry of Education. The workshop aimed to strengthen institutional capabilities in handling cyber incidents and enhance readiness to address digital threats, with a particular focus on ransomware attacks.
The workshop was conducted in two training batches over two days, with each batch dedicated to a group of IT specialists from the Ministry. This allowed a larger number of specialists to benefit from the workshop content and its practical applications. The workshop covered the fundamental concepts of cyber incident response, in addition to reviewing a number of tools and programs used during response operations, and explaining the mechanisms for handling cyber incidents when entities are exposed to cyberattacks.
The workshop also included simulation scenarios and practical exercises that reflected the nature of real-world threats, as well as a live demonstration of a cyberattack as an applied example of ransomware attacks. This contributed to raising the level of readiness and enhancing participants’ ability to understand the nature of these attacks, their methods, and how to respond to them effectively.
The delivery of this workshop comes as part of the Center’s ongoing efforts to promote a culture of cybersecurity, develop national capabilities, and support the establishment of a resilient national ecosystem capable of addressing evolving digital threats, in line with national directions aimed at strengthening cybersecurity in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
