The NCSC Concludes the Ministry of Interior’s Cybersecurity Awareness Plan
The National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) successfully completed its awareness plan for 2024-2025, titled “Cybersecurity in the Workplace.” This initiative is part of the “Career Advancement to Achieve Community Partnership” program. It was implemented at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) for approximately 150 employees of the Public Security for Community Affairs.
The workshops delivered to the employees were conducted by specialists from the Outreach and Awareness Directorate at the NCSC, starting in April 2024. The goal was to raise awareness and expand employees’ understanding of cybersecurity to enhance the work environment. Additionally, the workshops emphasized the importance of cybersecurity and its implementation.
The workshops covered several key topics, including an introduction to cybersecurity and its significance, as well as the various types of cyber threats that employees and organizations may encounter and strategies to mitigate them. Other important subjects include cybersecurity best practices in the workplace, such as data protection, regular system updates, the vital role employees play in maintaining cybersecurity and addressing threats to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
The series of lectures focus on the importance of cybersecurity and the training of staff from various departments within the MoI. Cybersecurity plays a crucial role in protecting against the increasing threats facing national entities, and in ensuring safety within the digital world through the shared responsibility of community members.
Colonel Ammar Mustafa Al Sayed, Assistant Chief of Public Safety for Community Affairs, honored the representatives of the NCSC for their efforts in organizing and delivering the workshops. He also commended their dedication to promoting the protection of national security amid technological advancements and the growing risks and cybercrimes that accompany them.
