CEO of the National Cyber Security Center inaugurates a workshop (Discussing Cyber Security Control in the Health Sector)

Shaikh Salman bin Mohamed Al Khalifa, CEO of National Cyber Security Center, inaugurated a workshop, discussing cyber security controls in the health sector. Organized by the National Center in cooperation with the National Health Regulatory Authority. With the presence of Dr. Mariam Adhbi Al-Jalahma, CEO of National Health Regulatory Authority, Shaikh Abdullah bin Mohamed Al Khalifa, Vice President of Cyber operations and chief executives of private hospitals and IT professionals in government and private institutions in the Kingdom.

On this occasion, Shaikh Salman bin Mohamed Al-Khalifa expressed his gratitude and appreciation to his Excellency the minister of interior for his permanent support, guidance and keenness and interest in implementing and following-up with what raises the level of cybersecurity in the Kingdom of Bahrain. As well as, enhancing capabilities and providing necessary resources to monitor and respond to cyber threats and risks. Moreover, providing a safe environment for cyberspace that aligns with the kingdom of Bahrain vision of 2030.

In the workshop, he stressed that the National Cyber Security Center seeks to discuss the security controls of the Health Sector with government and private health institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain in line with international best practices. Considering that, organizing such workshops and to work on ensuring security systems in alignment with the latest and rapid developments in the field of security and its challenges are key to achieving the Kingdoms’ strategic goals by providing a safe cyber environment for the health sector.

Shaikh Salman bin Mohamed Al-Khalifa indicated that during the workshop, the initial draft of cybersecurity controls for the health sector was discussed, which includes the necessary requirements to enable hospitals and health institutions to protect their systems, networks, applications and to enhance their cybersecurity.
