Wireless security
The lack of protection of wireless networks and devices makes them susceptible to a variety of cyber-attacks. By configuring and using your devices properly, you can protect yourself from such threats.
-
Update all the software's / firmware on existing equipment's to ensure it is free of known vulnerabilities.
-
Capture network logs (i.e., live packet captures) to aid in the investigation of malicious network activity.
-
Your network should have a wireless intrusion detection system (WIDS) and a wireless intrusion prevention system (WIPS).
-
Always keep an eye out for rogue access points.
-
Set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) for users to access the network. If this isn't possible, think about using Active Directory Service authentication instead of using a single shared password.
-
Monitor/Detect (802.11a/b/g/n/ac ) devices connected to the wireless network.
